I don’t know if I’ve ever put this across on here but despite all the effort and love I put into praising these beautifully made art movies I love “so-bad-they’re-good” and B movies. Something about the unintentional cheese factor that comes out of these just puts such a smile on my face that I get so addicted.
Some of my favorites that you need to see if you haven’t are Hard Ticket To Hawaii, Miami Connection, Dolamite, Troll 2, Food Fight, and Birdemic. Another one that I only could see around the holiday would be the ORIGNIAL Black Christmas not the remake.
I don’t know why I’m doing this maybe because I’m bored but I’m going to watch at least one halloween movie a day until Halloween next week because I haven’t indulged in anything related to this holiday yet.
This won’t be as bad as my junior year of high school when I watched every Saw movie in a row. I still shiver when I think about that.
Charles Mingus said that he didn’t care about what was cool at any period in time. He believed if it was cool at one time than it will always be cool and instead of trying to change the past he just made what he liked. I completely respect that philosophy and he’s now one of the coolest musicians in my mind despite his horrible temper.
I’ve been watching various jazz live performances and documentaries for over an hour now. This is what being a nerd is like? Seriously I’m just watching Bill Evans hit keys and people talking about it what am I doing?
I have such a deep and personal connection with the east coast that I’m not sure I’ll live anywhere else. I’ll visit the west of course but my home may always be here.
